Dorset is home to some of the most beautiful photographic locations in the UK. On its 95-mile long Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site, you will find the pinnacles of Old Harry Rocks and the famous arch of Durdle Door. Just inland is the 11th century Corfe Castle, the moored boats at Wareham harbour and the rolling hills and villages of Thomas Hardy’s Wessex.

Swanage based Mark Bauer – one of the UK’s leading landscape photographers, takes you on a tour of the classic Dorset locations and shares some of the area’s hidden photographic gems.

From the foreword by Tony Bates MBE, President of the Dorset Wildlife Trust:

It is not surprising that there are many books that illustrate the beauty of Dorset, but this one is different.  Mark Bauer has not only provided us with a superb range of photographs but we are provided with great detail on how to find the best viewpoints.

I bought this book spring 2017, it has fantastic locations, and is well detailed on how to find them. I visit Dorset regularly and this book has given me fresh impetus to search the less well known locations just as much as the classic ones. Mark is using Fuji equipment as I do, which makes me feel you don’t need a 5K Canikon body and a T/S lens to replicate the images.
Waiting on a few more to go to press, but will probably end up with them all they really are that good.
Highly recommended to any photographer, or makes a nice gift for anyone interested in their local flora/fauna.
