Although I used to shoot with film using first my dad’s old Pentax Spotmatic and then my own Pentax ME Super, because of studies – science and then veterinary medicine – it wasn’t until 2012 that I made a risky purchase of a full frame DSLR camera and started photographing landscapes. Living on the outskirts of Dartmoor I get the opportunity to photograph nature in its rawness. I use Canon and Sony cameras, and process with a light touch, in Photoshop and Lightroom. I mostly exposure blend using 2 or 3 shots. This allows me to keep the finer details and tones, and keep noise levels at a minimum, especially when blowing the images up to full size for printing.
