If you haven’t been to Iceland before, James describes the not-to-be-missed locations, giving a full run down of where, when and how. If you have visited Iceland before, James has spent the last five years exploring and guiding in Iceland, and describes off-the-beaten track locations in the east, north, west and in the interior highlands. Foreword

This is a thorough exposition of Iceland, in two volumes and a separate map, a combination, like all fotoVUE books, of a useful field guide, photographic advice, travel and accommodation logistics for planning your trip and a coffee table book filled with gorgeous photography for inspiration. The foreword is by Egill Bjarnason (right) from Selfoss, an Icelandic journalist and the author of How Iceland Changed the World.

Every fotoVUE book takes a great deal of work, and are sometimes several years in the making. If you’ve kindly bought one of our volumes I’m sure that you will appreciate this.

The main person is of course the author and photographer with their name on the front cover. The criteria for authorship is that they live in an area they they write about it or they spend a great deal of time there and know it intimately. Of course they have to be an accomplished photographer, and the big ask, be able to write well. In James’ case, he also did on his own layout with fotoVUE’s main designer Nathan Ryder.
