NEW BOOK: Photographing Family—This Wonderful Life, Captured

We all have some family: mum, dad, brothers, sisters, spouse, partner, kids, grandparents, friends and documenting this family life is important. In the first departure from our photo-location guidebooks Sarah Mason and Suzi Garlick, ably assisted by their beautiful daughter Olive, have started work on a new fotoVUE book provisionally titled, Photographing Family.

Photographing Family will be a book packed with ideas, inspiration and techniques that will help you take better photographs of family and home life — whether you use a ‘proper’ camera or phone camera.

Sarah and Suzi are two creative photographers, filmmakers and writers who live in the Hebden Bridge area from where they run their business, a portfolio of photographic and filming services, and workshops, under the banner, This Wonderful Life, Captured (sarahmasonphotography.co.uk)

Including some basic principles of photography, the emphasis of Sarah and Suzi’s book will be about capturing those special moments throughout life that tell unique stories, catching the beauty of the everyday and occasions, so that you have an intimate record of memories to share and remember.

One of Sarah and Suzi’s short films: A short film about 11yr old Hanna who enjoys wild swimming. With the addition of a nose clip to her gear, there’s been no stopping her!

Their book will also include chapters on what to do with your photographs, from posting on social media to making family journals, calendars and prints for your wall.
