I highly recommend this book if you’re planning a trip to Cornwall and Devon – even if you’re not a photographer. The book is an excellent guide to the best places to visit across the area, with tips on the ideal viewpoints and times to visit for the best photos. This book will save you a lot of time and effort – it also includes grid references and details on the camera settings used for the all the images in the book. I think the book will also appeal to those who are looking to visit the area, not just for photography, but for walking holidays and sightseeing. Adam’s photographs are also very inspiring and great to have as a collection and study if you are looking to improve your composition. All in all highly recommended – and I’ll be placing an order for other books in the series.

Fantastic! – A comprehensive guidebook full of stunning photos and great locations, including detailed maps, directions and accessibility, advising the best locations to visit depending on the time of day/year and offering different viewpoints at each location.
I now have a long list of places I want to photograph and can’t wait for my next trip to Cornwall and Devon.
I can highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Landscape photography.

If ever there was a part of our country begging to have a photographers guide written for then Devon and Cornwall is it. I have the Lake District guide by the same publisher and what Adam Burton has done here is deliver another sterling go-to guide. Not only are some of the more popular locations covered in detail, but plenty of others you may not have ever though of. Offering different shooting options at each, the author clearly has a detailed knowledge and captures this expertise down on paper exceedingly well. There really is something here for a broad church of photography needs – from hobbiest and serious landscape photographers to holidaying interests.

This is a very nice book that highlights some lovely areas to visit in Devon and Cornwall. As a local professional photographer based in Devon and keen walker I did already know most of the locations in this region of the book but not the Cornwall ones so much.
The photographs are nice and inspiring, Although I would agree with an amazon reviewer that there is more to our fantastic coast than long exposure misty looking sea scenes beautifully done as they are by the author.
It is certainly a book of a GOTO top places and especially useful if you have never been to the area either as a photographer or simply as someone who enjoys beautiful locations and the information on parking etc will prove very useful.
Personally i think the biggest let down of the book lovely as it is is the lack of places to actually go.. Devon and Cornwall are enormous counties with an unfathomable opportunity to the photographer or view seeker.. Of course there is no way to include everything it would be 1000 pages thick but in my honest opionion I think the counties should have been split over two books and more focus with more places and view points on each location doing both beautiful counties much more justice.
Overall though this is a lovely little quality book with some great ideas of places to go and good information to help less informed locals or those visiting of some gorgeous places to visit and photograph.
My friend (scottish) has recnetly bought the Scotland version of this and is very impressed and by all accounts its a much larger and more in depth publication.
I would recommend this though and I really like the idea of what is trying to be achieved here with these publications.
